Canon PowerShot D10 Digital Camera Review

Canon has come up with a waterproof, freeze-proof and shockproof camera: Canon PowerShot D10 Digital Camera. It is a 12.1 MP resolution digital camera, with 3x Optical Zoom. You can even customize the camera with customized straps and interchangeable faceplates. The features are good but, doesn’t look stylish. If rugged is what you want, this is the camera for you.

The camera is waterproof up to a depth of 33 feet (10 m) and can be taken for scuba diving or snorkeling or surfing. It is also ideal for snowboarding, mountaineering and can withstand extreme temperature from 14 to 104 degrees (F). It can be handled by kids, without any worries of getting dropped as it is shockproof and can withstand up to 4 feet drop.
It comes with Face Detection Self-Timer that automatically detects new faces and makes appropriate adjustments. If you want to take group photos and want to be included in the snap, you just need to set it on a tripod or any other elevated hard surface, set it to “Face Detection Self-Timer” and you move into the scene. When the camera sees your face, it will take the snap.
The PowerShot D10 utilizes the latest of the Canon’s Digic technologies, DIGIC 4 Image Processor. It has very advanced face detection technology that keeps every face properly focused. It also tracks moving faces and focuses perfectly. The photographs look very near to real with perfect skin tones.
The Canon D10 comes with Intelligent Contrast Correction (i-Contrast), that is made possible by DIGIC 4 technology. The i-Contrast brightens the dark areas of a photograph while leaving the bright areas as it is. You can even adjust images during playback, if the i-Contrast was not activated while taking the pictures.
There are no negatives in the camera but for the high price. Still it is worth it as there are not that many good digital cameras with these kinds of features and are waterproof.
If you are looking for waterproof and shockproof (the two most useful features), then you can blindly go for this camera.
