If the claims of Sony are true, this is a real breakthrough in Digital Cameras. They say their new camera Sony Cyber-shot DSC TX1 contains “Exmor R” CMOS chip that can take pictures in low light and decrease the graininess by 50%. I am all for such a camera. There is more to it, for this camera. The camera can capture High Speed burst of upto 10 fps. This is another great feature to have.

Canon has come up with a waterproof, freeze-proof and shockproof camera: Canon PowerShot D10 Digital Camera. It is a 12.1 MP resolution digital camera, with 3x Optical Zoom. You can even customize the camera with customized straps and interchangeable faceplates. The features are good but, doesn’t look stylish. If rugged is what you want, this is the camera for you.

Canon has come out with another slim digital elph camera with good feature set, Canon PowerShot SD 780 IS. It comes with DIGIC 4 image processor. This is easily pocketable and light weight. You need to be extra careful not to loose it. For such tiny form factor, the picture quality is good and the feature set is excellent, including HD video taking ability.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 is another blockbuster camera from Panasonic. This is a steal for under $400. It comes with excellent features, a great lens with 18x optical zoom and with wide angle. At this price, there is nothing that can beat this camera.

Sony Cybershot DSC-T77 is a slim and stylish camera and extremely light (just 4.8 ounces). It is sure to turn heads. The pictures are excellent in well lighted conditions. But, grains appear in low light conditions. Overall features are excellent. It is very easy to use and intuitive.

Sony Cybershot DSC W170 is a small and slim camera and very light (only 6 ounces with battery). Maybe packing 10.1 MP into such a small camera is not such a good idea.
There are lots of situations where you get lot of noise. Some images lack sharpness. But, this camera comes packed with lots of features.

Canon Powershot SD 990 IS digital camera is a curvy beauty with good features packed in this small compact camera. Canon has done pretty good with this camera but for some minor issues. There is an optical view finder along with the LCD screen.

The Canon PowerShot SD880 IS all in all is a very good buy. It is slightly pricier but, is well worth it.
Mostly Images are sharp and crisp. It is pretty fast and very easy to use.

This nice little PowerShot A590IS from Canon is easy to use and easy to pocket. Even sometimes in a pant pocket. Canon has done good job on this in terms of features. Mainly, having a viewfinder helps a lot. Outdoors when sun is on your back, then you cannot easily compose a picture using LCD screen. View finder helps in such situations.
